In our fast-paced world, stress and anxiety have become increasingly common, impacting both our physical and mental well-being. It makes sense then, that managing stress effectively is essential for overall health. At Burnaby Heights Chiropractic, we offer a holistic approach that addresses physical discomfort with both chiropractic and registered massage therapy treatments, which leads to better stress management and can contribute to improving mental health.

Understanding Stress and Its Effects

Stress is a natural response to life’s challenges, but it can lead to various health issues when it becomes chronic. Physical symptoms of stress often include muscle tension, headaches, and fatigue, while mental health impacts can manifest as anxiety, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. Understanding the mind-body connection is crucial—stress can affect our emotions and how our bodies function.

Research has shown that stress hormones, such as cortisol, can create a cycle of physical and mental distress. Continuous stress can lead to symptoms of discomfort, stiffness, and even pain in the spine. The more chronic stress becomes, the more it can affect the nervous system’s ability to regulate stress responses. This is where chiropractic care plays a pivotal role.

How Chiropractic Care Helps

Chiropractic care focuses on the relationship between the spine and the nervous system. Dysfunction between segments of the spine can lead to exacerbating stress and anxiety symptoms by perpetuating symptoms of stiffness, soreness, discomfort and pain felt in the spine stat is being caused by stress as well. The two different causes of those symptoms are stacking on top of each other, and it makes the symptoms worse. By performing precise spinal adjustments, Dr. Forest Eaton (the chiropractor at Burnaby Heights Chiropractic) aims to restore proper function to the spine and reduce those symptoms..

These adjustments help reduce your symptoms and promote optimal function. As a result of having their symptoms of stiffness, soreness, discomfort and pain lessened, many patients experience a profound sense of calm and relaxation after their sessions. Regular chiropractic care not only alleviates physical symptoms but also contributes to improved mental health by fostering a balanced nervous system.

Reducing Muscle Tension

One of the immediate benefits of chiropractic adjustments is the reduction of muscle tension. Stress often manifests physically, particularly in the neck, shoulders, and back. By addressing these areas, chiropractic care can help break the cycle of tension that contributes to stress and anxiety. Patients frequently report feeling more relaxed and less anxious after treatment.

Enhancing Sleep Quality

Chronic stress can significantly impair sleep quality, leading to a vicious cycle of fatigue and heightened anxiety. Chiropractic care can help improve sleep by alleviating pain and discomfort, allowing for deeper, more restorative rest. Improved sleep has a direct positive impact on mental health, helping to regulate mood and reduce irritability.

Complementary Therapies

At Burnaby Heights Chiropractic, we understand that holistic treatment goes beyond just spinal adjustments. We also offer registered massage therapy, which can be an excellent complement to chiropractic care. Massage therapy helps to relax tight muscles, improve circulation, and promote overall relaxation. By incorporating chiropractic care and massage therapy together, patients can experience enhanced even more relief relief.

Additionally, we provide guidance on lifestyle modifications, including exercise, nutrition, and mindfulness practices. These elements are essential in managing stress and promoting a healthier lifestyle. Techniques such as deep breathing exercises, yoga, and meditation can further enhance the benefits of chiropractic care.

A Holistic Approach to Mental Wellness

Chiropractic care should be part of a broader approach to managing stress and improving mental health. While it is not a standalone treatment for mental health conditions, it is a valuable component of an integrated wellness plan. Chiropractic care can enhance the effectiveness of traditional mental health therapies by addressing the physical symptoms of stress and promoting relaxation.

If you are struggling with stress or anxiety and seeking a natural, holistic approach, consider consulting with our team at Burnaby Heights Chiropractic. Our experienced practitioners are dedicated to helping you achieve optimal health and well-being.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the role of chiropractic care in managing stress and improving mental health cannot be overstated. Focusing on spinal health and nervous system function, chiropractic adjustments can alleviate physical symptoms of stress, support mental well-being, and enhance overall quality of life.

Spring is the perfect time to get outside and work in the garden. Whether planting flowers, growing vegetables, refreshing your landscape, or just being outside, gardening can be rewarding. However, spending hours bending, lifting, and digging can take a toll on your back and spine. Without proper precautions, what starts as a peaceful day in the garden can lead to discomfort or even injury.

You can enjoy gardening while protecting your spine and overall well-being by following this advice from your local chiropractor on how to keep your back pain-free as you prepare for a vibrant spring garden.

1. Warm Up Before You Start

Just like any other physical activity, gardening requires proper warm-ups. A few minutes of stretching can loosen your muscles, increase circulation, and prepare your body for movement. Focus on gentle stretches that target your lower back, shoulders, and legs. A chiropractor can recommend specific exercises for a warm up like this based on your unique health history. They will be able to tailor your warm up routine specifically to you based on what your spine is able to do, and this will help reduce the risk of injury.

2. Maintain Proper Posture

Poor posture while gardening is one of the leading causes of back pain. Many people spend long periods bending over or kneeling, which strains the spine. To protect your back:

Keep your back straight when bending over

Avoid hunching your shoulders

Use a small stool or kneeling pad to reduce pressure on your lower back

Change positions frequently to avoid stiffness

Stand up and move around often

A chiropractor can help identify posture issues and provide guidance on maintaining proper spinal alignment.

3. Lift with Care

Lifting heavy bags of soil, pots, or gardening tools incorrectly can also cause back injuries. To prevent strain:

Bend at your knees, not your waist

Keep objects close to your body while lifting.

Engage your core muscles for stability

Avoid twisting while carrying heavy loads

If an object is too heavy, ask for help or use a wheelbarrow to reduce stress on your back. Or, if possible, make multiple trips with lighter loads.

4. Take Breaks and Stay Hydrated

Gardening can be time-consuming, but it’s essential to take regular breaks. Prolonged physical activity without rest can lead to muscle fatigue and increased back pain. Chiropractors often advise following this rule—every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break and stretch or change positions.

Additionally, staying hydrated is essential for muscle function and preventing cramps or stiffness. Drink plenty of water, especially on warm spring days.

5. Use Ergonomic Gardening Tools

Standard gardening tools can put unnecessary strain on your hands, wrists, and back. Consider investing in ergonomic tools with padded handles and long extensions to minimize reaching and bending. Raised garden beds can also be a great option to reduce the need for excessive bending.

A chiropractor can recommend ergonomic solutions that best suit your gardening habits and physical needs.

6. Stretch and Cool Down After Gardening

Just as you warm up before gardening, it’s essential to cool down afterward. Gentle stretching can help relax tight muscles and prevent stiffness. Going for a short 10 minute walk can help move joints that have been stationary while you have been gardening. Pay special attention to your lower back, hamstrings, and shoulders. If you experience persistent pain, visiting a chiropractor may help alleviate tension and restore mobility.

7. Listen to Your Body

Pain is a sign that something isn’t right. If you experience discomfort while gardening, stop and assess your posture and movements. Ignoring minor aches can lead to chronic pain or more serious injuries. If you frequently experience back pain after gardening, consider seeing a chiropractor for a spinal assessment and personalized treatment plan.

Protect Your Spine with Burnaby Heights Chiropractic!

As winter settles in, many of us find ourselves bundled up in layers of clothing, which can inadvertently lead to poor posture and discomfort. Whether you’re shovelling snow, sitting by the fireplace, or commuting in a cozy car, maintaining proper alignment becomes crucial for your health. Here are some practical tips to help you stay aligned and pain-free during the colder months.

1. Dress Smartly for Comfort

While you want to stay warm, it’s essential to choose clothing that allows for movement. Overly bulky jackets can restrict your range of motion, leading you to hunch your shoulders or slouch. Opt for layers that provide warmth without compromising mobility. A well-fitted jacket and stretchy underlayers can help you maintain better posture while staying comfortable.

2. Mind Your Footwear

Winter often means slippery sidewalks and snow-covered streets. The right footwear can significantly affect your posture and overall safety. Choose shoes with good arch support and non-slip soles to help maintain balance. When walking on icy surfaces, take shorter, cautious steps and keep your body aligned to prevent falls and injuries.

3. Ergonomic Workspaces

If you’re working from home or spending extra time indoors, ensure your workspace is ergonomic. Your chair should support your lower back, and your computer screen should be at eye level. This setup will encourage you to sit up straight rather than hunch over your device, helping to prevent neck and back pain. Remember to take regular breaks to stand, stretch, and reset your posture.

4. Stretch It Out

Winter can cause our muscles to tighten, leading to discomfort and stiffness. Incorporating a regular stretching routine can help counteract this. Focus on stretches that open up your chest, shoulders, and hips. Gentle yoga or specific stretches targeting the back can also promote flexibility and alleviate tension. If you’re unsure where to start, consider consulting a registered massage therapist (RMT) in Burnaby for personalized advice.

5. Stay Active

It’s tempting to hibernate during winter, but staying active is key to maintaining good posture. Whether it’s a brisk walk outside, indoor workouts, or winter sports, find activities you enjoy. Regular movement helps keep your muscles strong and flexible, reducing the risk of injury and promoting better alignment.

6. Seek Professional Help

If you’re already experiencing pain or discomfort, don’t hesitate to seek professional help. A chiropractor can provide tailored treatment to address your specific needs. Chiropractic care can help correct postural imbalances and alleviate pain, ensuring you stay aligned throughout winter. Additionally, massage therapy from a qualified RMT can help relax tight muscles and improve blood circulation, further supporting your posture.

With some small adjustments, you can maintain proper winter posture, keep your muscles flexible, and prevent unnecessary back and neck pain. Focus on core strength, proper walking and standing, good stretching, and supportive footwear. Don’t let the winter weather wreak havoc on your posture and cause pain.
If you have severe or persisting back or neck pain, visit a chiropractor in Burnaby for an adjustment. You can count on Burnaby Heights Chiropractic, where dedicated professionals are ready to help you stay aligned and pain-free all season long. Along with chiropractic care, we also offer massage therapy in Burnaby. So, book your appointment now!

We use our hips for everything, including simple daily activities like walking and bending. Your hips are a vital part of your body, and hip pain can prevent you from doing the things you love, and even simple movements will become challenging. Hip pain can complicate your life in many ways, but chiropractic care can help treat this kind of pain.

Chiropractic treatments can help address four main types of hip pain, including the following:

Arthritis

This condition can develop due to wear and tear, acute injury, or various pathological or metabolic conditions. Arthritis of the hip can significantly reduce the quality of your life because it will decrease hip mobility and function due to loss of cartilage, the presence of pain, and cause a change in how you walk . While there is no cure for arthritis, chiropractic treatments may help slow down the progress of this condition, and it can also help ease your symptoms. The chiropractors goal is to provide the patient with relief and improve their overall quality of life.

Sciatica

The sciatic nerve starts from the lower back and goes along the back of the leg, all the way to the foot. It is the longest nerve within the human body, and any pain present along the path of this nerve is often called sciatica. Often times sciatica is caused by an issue in the lower back, but sometimes it can actually be caused by something in the hip. Chiropractic care can help by identifying and addressing the root cause of sciatic pain, whether it is from the lower back or the hip joint.

Overuse Injury

This kind of injury starts gradually and will get worse over time as the injured area or structures get used more and more. Overuse injuries are common when it comes to hip pain, since the hip joint is being used all the time. Seeking chiropractic care for these kinds of injuries can help reduce your symptoms and prevent the injury from becoming chronic. Visiting a chiropractor regularly can help tremendously with hip pain resulting from overuse injuries, and your chiropractor will restore the proper spine and hip alignment during treatment to help promote muscle balance, joint movement, and overall patient mobility.

High-Impact Injury

This kind of injury results from a sudden incident like a sports injury, fall or car accident. A chiropractor will focus first on pain management in these situations and over time will help patients recover by helping them regain their pre-injury levels of function.

Why Seek Chiropractic Care when Experiencing Hip Pain?

Depending on the cause, chiropractors can help relieve pain by applying a variety of treatment, both hands on and instrument based. They can make the necessary adjustments to help improve hip functioning and decrease hip pain. When addressing hip pain, they will also focus on body alignment and function related to the hip, so you may experience several benefits from this type of treatment. It can help you return to your daily routine and regular activities, and in some cases it can hold off the necessity for hip surgery..

Conclusion

Are you experiencing hip pain? At Burnaby Heights Chiropractic, Dr Eaton uses specific hands-on manipulations to help mobilize your joints, which also helps relieve ongoing pain. He is professionally trained, and these treatments can help with many conditions affecting your cartilage, bones, connective tissue, muscles and joints.

Dr Eaton will focus on the issue you are experiencing. Hands-on manipulations can have a drastic positive impact with regard to pain relief—the adjustments he makes during treatment may be very effective for neck, back and hip pain. These treatments may prevent the need for pain relievers, and regular chiropractic treatments may even prevent the need for surgery.

Chiropractic care can help relieve pain and is very effective in treating many painful conditions including neck pain, sciatica, and lower back pain. This article will tell you what to expect from your first chiropractic visit, which will usually include a thorough history and chiropractic exam and, in some cases, the start of your chiropractic treatment.

Feeling nervous about your first chiropractic appointment is normal because you’re unfamiliar with the process and don’t know what will happen once you arrive. Putting your mind at ease by knowing what you can expect will get you one step closer to improved health.

Consultation & Assessment

At Burnaby Heights Chiropractic this first appointment will generally last about 45 minutes, and follow-up chiropractic appointments will be shorter and may last about 20 minutes. During your first in-office chiropractic visit, you will be asked to fill out forms to provide background information about your symptoms and condition. Dr Eaton will ask you lots of questions about when your pain started, where you feel it, and if it is due to an acute injury. You will also be asked to describe the pain—is it sharp pain? Throbbing pain? Does it come and go? Do certain activities make it worse? You will be asked about your family’s medical history and any pre-existing medical conditions you may have. Finally, you may be asked about any previous or current treatments other health professionals provide.

Chiropractic Exam

The second portion of your visit will include a physical examination focused on your area of pain, which may include general tests like blood pressure, reflexes and pulse. Dr Eaton will also assess the range of motion of the affected area, muscle strength and muscle tone, as well as performing various physical orthopedic tests to help determine the nature of your specific issue. You will be asked to move in a specific manner to allow the chiropractor to assess the affected area, but if you are not comfortable at any time during any of this process you can ask to stop.

X-Ray & Diagnostic

The third portion of your chiropractic visit may include diagnostic studies. This can be helpful in revealing pathologies and identifying structural abnormalities to diagnose a condition more accurately. This portion will be based on the patient’s history and chiropractic exam results; an X-ray is the most common diagnostic study used during the first chiropractic exam, but is not always needed. It will only be requested if the chiropractor has good reason to believe it will provide important information regarding the patient’s treatment program.

Once the chiropractor has the information they need from the patient’s history, physical examination and diagnostic tests, they can then determine a specific diagnosis. Once this is established, they can confirm if chiropractic care can help with that condition. For example, fractures, infections and tumours cannot be treated with chiropractic care and will require a different treatment from a specialist. If chiropractic care can help treat the condition, they will discuss the next steps and when you should book a follow-up appointment.

By the end of a patient’s first chiropractic visit, you will receive an explanation of the diagnosed condition along with an individualized chiropractic treatment plan. The chiropractor will also discuss the anticipated length of chiropractic care, and you may receive this information verbally or in written form.

Conclusion

Dr Eaton here at Burnaby Heights Chiropractic will tell you what you can expect, and he will take the time to answer your questions or address any concerns.

There is no health remedy that works for everyone, as any wellness professional will inform you. Given that factors such as weight, nutrition, stress, activity levels, burnout at work, and others play significant roles. This is especially true for those who experience back pain. Many individuals with back pain find relief from chiropractic treatment. Still, if chiropractors in Burnaby were only to provide one type of therapy and operated within a “healthcare silo,” patients could not receive the comprehensive care they require to feel well—with a treatment plan tailored to their specific needs.

Registered chiropractors in Burnaby can help their clients more efficiently by collaborating with other healthcare professionals and initiatives. For instance, a balanced diet plan and an exercise plan specific to a patient’s biomechanical needs can help mitigate back pain’s causes.

What Is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic care is a complementary field of healthcare. It strongly emphasizes the manual adjustment or manipulation of the spine while concentrating on evaluating and treating neuromuscular disorders. These changes are thought to contribute to general health wellness by alleviating pain, extending the range of motion, enhancing flexibility, and fostering relaxation.

Chiropractic treatment may also boost immunological and neurological system performance, which can benefit general health and fitness. Reducing neck/back pain, migraines, and sensations linked to some chronic illnesses (including fibromyalgia and asthma) are specific advantages of chiropractic treatment.

How Does Chiropractic Care Promote Wellness?

The system of tendons, nerves, bones, organs, and muscles that makes up the human body are intricately connected. Ensuring the spine is moving and functioning properly with chiropractic treatments has a chain reaction effect, which helps the rest of the body function properly as well. When your body is working well and feeling better, greater wellness is achieved. This treatment method can also trigger the brain to release endorphins, the “feel good” chemical that assists with mood regulation.

Being in intense pain from a specific injury will also cause significant negative effects throughout your body as a whole. The signals of pain that your brain receives can cause things like changing your overall stress level, decreasing your food intake, and altering your temperament to happen. You may find that you alter the way you move, or change your posture when you are resting because of the pain you are in. This compensation puts extra stress on different areas of your body, often leading to secondary problems. As well, the inflammation caused by an injury in one area can spread to other areas, causing more wide spread discomfort. All of this added together can be very overwhelming, and lead to a significant decrease in how well you are feeling

Chiropractic treatments can improve function, decrease pain, reduce inflammation, and help promote faster and more complete healing. When the pain is gone, and your body is able to function normally, greater wellness is achieved. You’ll even get a better nights sleep!

Benefits of Regular Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care has various advantages for both short-term and long-term health outcomes and is an important part of the treatment and management of several chronic and acute issues. Chiropractic treatment offers relief from more than simply neck and back discomfort. It has advantages for your ability to exercise, helps in the management of hypertension, pain management, mental wellness, and more.

Regular chiropractic visits can help establish and maintain an optimal level of personal well being by relieving symptoms and keeping your body working and moving smoothly. Working with your chiropractor helps create an environment where your health can flourish, and builds a long-term health strategy. It is a non-invasive and low-risk therapeutic option, with the following benefits:

Boost Energy & Sleep Habits

Any kind of pain makes it difficult to fall asleep. Tossing and turning all through the night due to physical pain can make it difficult or nearly impossible to obtain adequate sleep. Additionally, living a sleep-deprived life can lead to various psychological and medical issues.

Chiropractic treatment can lessen pain and assist you in falling asleep at night, increasing your energy levels during the day. At Burnaby Heights Chiropractic, Dr Eaton does this with hands-on manual therapy.

Control Arthritis Symptoms

To alleviate the discomfort associated with arthritis, sometimes patients must take medication and receive ongoing medical attention from their doctors. While this medication helps lessen inflammation, using chiropractic treatments to control these symptoms is often just as effective, and is invaluable for those people who don’t like to take medication.

Massage, muscular activation, exercise, acupuncture, and other modalities are also ways to keep you mobile and flexible. Taking all reasonable precautions to maintain good health is very important.

Acute & Chronic Pain Relief

Helping to ease joint pain brought on by everyday activities and severe injuries is a daily occurrence here at Burnaby Heights Chiropractic. Despite some people’s beliefs, chiropractic is a suitable method of treatment for many causes of both acute and chronic pain.

Physical injuries from car accidents, old sports injuries that keep flaring up, repetitive stress injuries from repeated movements, disc bulges and herniations, issues with posture, movement imbalances, and even certain types of headaches and just a few of the things that chiropractors treat every single day. Whether they are acute issues that just happened, recurrent issues that flare up every once and a while, or chronic issues that need regular management, chiropractic treatments play a big part in managing the symptoms and taking care of these things.

Identify & Address Physical Issues

Do you ever wonder why, despite your best intentions, your head, neck or back always hurts? Or the reason why typing makes your shoulder ache?

A skilled registered chiropractor can assist you in identifying the underlying causes of persistent discomfort by doing a thorough physical examination. They will check your posture, analyze your movement patterns, check for restrictions in joint movement, and test the integrity of your nerves and muscles. Once the underlying cause is identified, a treatment plan can be made. Your chiropractor will help you regain your range of movement and flexibility by removing physical restrictions, and will develop exercises and movements to target imbalances and weaknesses. Once issues have been resolved, they can assist you in maintaining a solid spine over the long term.

The Overall Outcome

Regular chiropractic patients experience changes in a variety of aspects of their lives. Decreased pain, improved movement, improved sleep, reduced stress, and an enhanced ability to deal with above normal physical strain, are just a few of the benefits that many patients enjoy. Aches and discomfort, poor posture, anxiety, stress, and accidents are also reduced in chiropractic patients who regularly receive treatment.

There is no reason to prevent yourself from feeling your best and taking advantage of the perks of optimizing your physical health and biomechanics. Many of the health issues you face could be due to poor alignment and routines that cause physical stress to your system. Get to the root cause of your pain by seeking chiropractic care to help with life’s aches and discomforts.

Now that you are well-informed, it’s up to you to experience a healthier, happier version of yourself. Plan a time for your introductory appointment with Burnaby Heights Chiropractic.

Getting older is not something that you can control. Back, hip, and joint pain, on the other hand, is completely manageable. With correct chiropractic and massage therapy, discomfort doesn’t have to accompany aging.

What does a chiropractor do?
A chiropractor can appropriately assess and treat acute or chronic pain in the muscular and skeletal systems. Dr. Forest Eaton has been in clinical practice for over 15 years and has seen thousands of patients recover from painful conditions. A chiropractor will use adjustments, activator, flexion-distraction and more to restore much of your back’s mobility. Additionally, we understand that seniors can require a little extra, we also offer custom orthotics to correct your back and posture even when you aren’t at the chiropractor. A referral for acupuncture can also be fed into treatment processes to target certain nerves and muscles that require extra relief.

What does a massage therapist do?
While a chiropractor can help with issues related to body structure, a massage therapist will deal with the soft tissue portion of your body. Using massage techniques can provide relief once again for chronic, and acute pain. With communication between patient and massage therapist, treatment will be even more effective. Once your massage therapist is able to understand what helps with your pain and/or swelling, they will be able to work off of that. Massage therapy can be more effective in combination with chiropractic treatments

How does massage therapy and chiropractic care help seniors?
Chiropractic and massage therapy treatments are a great option for seniors in search of relief. Each patient is unique and requires treatment tailored to their own personal condition. Our services are customizable and patients can choose the preferred frequency that works for them. Out treatments are drug free and pair excellently together. Our doctors take extreme pride in the level of quality of care they provide. Feel secure knowing that you or a loved one is safe in the healing hands of the Burnaby Heights Chiropractic clinic.

Conditions that visiting a chiropractor can help with

Improper posture: Regular visits can help your posture stay strong, sturdy, and sustainable

Scoliosis: while the condition itself cannot be cured, it can be managed with chiropractic visits

Joint deterioration: help to slow joint deterioration by making sure the body mechanics are working as best they can

General pain: Enjoy pain free living as you age gracefully

Lack of mobility: regain lost mobility due to a multitude of conditions

Looking for a long term solution to back and hip pain? Call the Burnaby Heights Chiropractic practice to book your first appointment and feel the difference.

Headaches are common symptoms that often derive from a number of other root causes, including dehydration, stress, a loud environment, lack of sleep, caffeine withdrawal, and even your diet. Neck pains are also a common condition that can trigger headaches, and sometimes this can even lead to migraines.

Checking to see whether your neck pains are the reason you are having headaches is important to consider when having a health care practitioner investigate your headache issues. You may think that your headaches derive from dehydration or just stress in general, and while this may be true, sometimes, the true culprit can be neck pains. If that is the case, it is often easily treatable, and will often significantly reduce the severity and frequency of your headaches. Sometimes, it will make those headaches go away all together!

At the base of the skull, there are four muscles called your suboccipital muscles. These muscles are often the cause of neck dysfunction and headache pain in many people. These muscles are responsible for the subtle but slight movements of the head as well as the first and second vertebrates of your neck. Your suboccipital muscles can become tense and tender, and can lead to other symptoms like a feeling of strain to the eyes, tension in the temples, and a headache. Tension in these muscles is often also related to tightness in the upper shoulder and upper back areas, which your chiropractor can also help with.

In order to diagnose your specific condition, as part of your first visit your chiropractor will perform a thorough history taking and physical examination to see if there is any relationship between any neck pain and headaches you may be experiencing. By determining the nature and relationship of these, your chiropractor will then be able to provide you with a treatment plan, specific to you. The most common ways that Dr Eaton will treat people at Burnaby Heights Chiropractic to help relieve them of headaches that are a result of neck pain include manual therapy and soft tissue therapy. As well, he can provide many recommendations on self care and rehabilitation: helping you learn what is bad and what isn’t for your neck, giving advice on healthy lifestyle changes, and what you can do at home when acute neck pain and headache symptoms arise. The final treatment is referral and co-management; helping you find the right care if chiropractic is inappropriate or not effective for you. These are all options that any chiropractor would be able to help you with.

Burnaby Heights Chiropractic offers chiropractor and registered massage therapy services in Burnaby, British Columbia. We offer our services to everyone and try to give the best care to our patients. If you are looking to get rid of those headaches and neck pains, don’t be afraid to contact us and see when you can book your next appointments.

Stress is a catalyst that can lead to physical health issues. Stress does not only manifest itself in your mind, but can also spread to other parts of your body, causing you discomfort and pain. Headaches, migraines, joint pain, neck and back pain are just a few places your stress can cause you pain. You might feel as if nothing will be able to alleviate your pain or your stress. The good news is that your chiropractor might be able to help you.

As stress takes over your body, it may become more difficult to get anything done. Stress causes tension in your nerves, which, in turn, causes muscle tension. That muscle tension is the culprit of most of your physical ailments.

A chiropractor can help you reduce stress by:

Reducing muscle tension.

Restoring function to your body with spinal adjustments.

Suggest relaxation tips and techniques with you.

Show you postural stretches that can help alleviate pain.

And much more.

Stress causes tension in the body, and it is this tension in the body that leads to a host of other health problems. Over time this takes a more severe toll on your body. You might start losing sleep because of it, and lose your focus with that. A chiropractor can help by making adjustments to your spine and relieving the tension, which will return your body to its natural balance.

The health of your spine does not just have to do with the way your back feels. It is the backbone of (not only your body) but of your central nervous system as well. The signals your brain sends out to your body, it goes through your spine to communicate to the right parts. Having regular appointments with your chiropractor will help keep everything running smoothly throughout your body.

If you need help relaxing, your chiropractor’s got your back (literally). When you are stressed out or going through a stressful life event, it’s almost impossible to de-stress if you don’t have the right tools or knowledge. Your chiropractor will work with you to correct your posture, along with helping you with relaxation techniques you can practice on your own. Both of these things will help you get your body back to a state of relaxation that will help you restore your quality of sleep and overall health.

For these reasons and more, it is quite beneficial to see a chiropractor regarding any chronic stress you may be experiencing. A chiropractor can help you make sure that you’re in good shape. Contact us today to schedule an adjustment with us at Burnaby Heights Chiropractic with a certified RMT.

Combining chiropractic and massage therapy often produces better results and patients will experience a noticeable improvement with the condition or injury they’re suffering from. Each form of therapy offers unique benefits on their own and when the two are completed together, patients will receive a treatment plan that is far more effective.

Massage allows chiropractors to perform more stable adjustments because it increases a body’s acceptance of the adjustment so the patient will see results a lot faster, whether it’s in the form of pain relief or increased mobility. Chiropractic care is a lot more effective with massage because a therapeutic massage will warm up the patient’s muscles and relax their entire body, allowing the chiropractor to maximize their adjustments to achieve optimal results. Together, these two forms of treatment will fight pain and patients will feel better right away. In addition to helping relax one’s muscles, massage will also relieve patients of any tension they’re feeling and eliminate toxins. Chiropractic care is a great way of ultimately extending the treatment to provide relief and eliminate pain in the patient’s joints, bones, tendons and their nervous system.

Chiropractic and massage therapy work hand in hand because the combination of both helps the patient’s body as a whole as opposed to just certain areas. Together, they provide full-body health, as both treatments focus on rejuvenation and healing and the techniques applied in each treatment will help boost the effectiveness of the other. Treating the root of the problem is highly possible when these two forms of treatments are combined, which increases the chances of effective results.

Many patients dread certain types of health procedures and feel stressed about having to see a chiropractor, which is very natural. Massage therapy can help with this aspect because it helps to relax and de-stress patients so that they’re better prepared for their chiropractic treatment by feeling less anxious. This will help them respond to the treatment a lot better because when a patient feels relaxed, they will feel more comfortable throughout the adjustments and when your muscles are not stiff, they will accept the chiropractor’s techniques instead of resisting them. Patients notice a decrease in terms of discomfort throughout their chiropractic appointment if they’ve had a massage beforehand because the experience will be relatively painless. The recovery time will also be a lot shorter because your condition will be taken care of through different techniques and multiple points.

There are so many benefits to combining these two types of treatments, including longer lasting results, so if you’re interested in healing and recovery and want minimal pain, it may be time to consider both forms of therapy and Burnaby Heights Chiropractic can help. Our registered massage therapists and chiropractors will work together and apply the treatment that’s right for you based on your needs specifically, so if you’re in the Burnaby area and want a professional RMT, give us a call today!
<gwmw style="display:none;"></gwmw>
